Many creators talk way too much before ever getting to anything meaningful.

Think about your own scrolling habits. When you’re watching a Reel or TikTok, if the first few seconds don’t catch your attention, you’re gone. You scroll without even thinking about it.

Your audience is no different. If you don’t hook them fast, you’ll lose them just as quickly.

If you speak too slowly, ramble, or open with something boring, people won’t stick around long enough to hear the value you do have. Attention spans are brutally short, and creators who don’t adapt lose viewers before their message even starts.

So when you create content, think like your own audience. What would make you stay?

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  1. Prepare before you record
Clear talking points lead to clear content. A simple outline can be the difference between “scroll” or “save.”
  2. Keep it short but impactful
You don’t need a long setup—get straight to the point. Lead with value, a hook, or something that sparks curiosity.
  3. Create with your audience in mind
Pay attention to the comments, questions, and reactions you get. Your audience literally tells you what they want—use that as direction.

It’s not about being perfect—it’s about being intentional.

Respect your viewers’ time, deliver value fast, and make every second count.
